At the beginning of every year, I have had to re-arrange my gym schedule to accommodate for the influx of new members whose New year’s resolutions was probably something like this:
1. Lose 10 pounds
2. To get in the best shape of my life
3. Start Eating Healthy
As we are now heading into the end of the month (statistics show most new members stop going to the gym after 3 weeks), I am now back to my regular schedule at 6pm after work and seeing familiar faces (members that I met since I join in 2007). It always baffles me why people will chose to voluntarily enroll in a gym, pay an exorbitant enrollment fee and monthly dues; only to stop coming after a mere 3 weeks! In my opinion, NEW YEAR’s Resolution should instead be termed “MONTHLY Resolution”. As the Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu eloquently puts it, ” A journey to a thousand miles begins with a single step”
